Taking learning outdoors
Outside Now offers a range of 63 outdoor learning experiences rooted in the experiences and outcomes of Curriculum for Excellence.
Written in line with CfE guidelines, this resource has been created following extensive consultation with specialist practitioners, educators, children and young people and families.
Interdisciplinary learning is a key component of Curriculum for Excellence and outdoor learning not only removes the classroom walls, it can also remove the boundaries between subjects.
Through interdisciplinary learning, young people have the opportunities to develop their knowledge and understanding, their organisational and collaborative skills and their creative and critical skills in new and challenging contexts.
This project has, and will continue to be, monitored and updated by a steering group of senior education staff, as Glasgows approach to taking learning outdoors continues to develop.
